Buddy (12-14 Years Old)
As a trusted and regular attender at Fun Stations you may be asked to become a ‘buddy’. This may involve you working with a member of staff by arranging equipment, selling tuck, recording scores or photographs, running errands or working with a group of younger children, etc. You may also be placed with a specific young child to help them access some of the activities. This may involve one to one activities, escorting the child from one activity to another or helping with a specific skill practice. You may be eligible to claim expenses as a volunteer.
JSLA + Volunteer (14+ Years Old)
Once you have reached the age of 14 you can volunteer to help in a similar way to a buddy. You will be assigned to a specific member of staff and will help by organising equipment and in some cases helping to lead activities. Fun Stations would liaise with your school so that your activities can be linked and accredited to Junior Sports Leaders Awards, Millennium Volunteers and similar awards. You would be eligible to claim expenses.
Junior Assistant (17+ Years old)
Once reaching the age of 17 you would be required to register with Ofsted and have checks carried out in line with Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). Under supervision, you would be expected to lead some activities but most of your duties would be helping a more senior member of staff.
Assistant Leader (18+Years Old)
Once you have reached the age of 18 you can become an assistant leader. Your duties are outlined in the attached job description and person specification. You would be expected to lead activities for a small group of children (up to 10 persons) in a variety of activities including sport, art and craft, dance and/or music
Deputy Manager
Experienced leaders may want to progress into management and take on responsibilities involved in the day to day running of the centre. The duties are outlined in the attached job description and person specification and include being able to maintain records of attendance, income and expenditure, equipment, activities, health and safety and medication.
Manager
The primary responsibility of this position will be the development of business and promoting positive relationships with the community, management of the host facility and Fun Stations staff. You will be expected to motivate staff to provide high quality service, maintaining year-long management of the centres by liaison with other managers and central office. The priority for the Manager is the safety and well-being of all children. As well as the duties listed on the job description and person specification the centre manager is expected to evaluate and plan for that safety and well-being. |
